Today was a great day in physical activity. The first hour and a half of the day, Gary, Steve, and myself carried dozens of monitors and computer towers to the loading dock with dolleys and such. A lot of them were really heavy, and some of them were incredibly light. I realized that ITS doesn’t just involve fixing people’s computers, but that there’s a lot of physical activity involved as well, like taking care of the old computers. During the carrying, I explained New Visions to Gary, and what I am going to do with my life.

September 28, 2006Unproductive
September 26, 2006Today has not been much of a productive day so far. It began with Tanasee and myself walking to the Tower to give someone their laptop. Since they weren’t there, we went back to Edwards. Steve was there, and needed to do something in the Tower, so I followed him back there. It turned out that he needed to fix that computer we were working on in the sound booth last time, that we didn’t manage to get fixed before we left. He tried a new disc, and we waited for it to install. Once it finished installing, we made sure it was fine, and left.
Excersize
September 21, 2006Today I was actually able to find the ITS room without getting lost. I thought this was a good accomplishment until I took the long way around later in the day.
A lot of the activities today were small errors, easy-to-fix type things. The first problem was that in a certain Word document, the program would not scan for spelling and grammar errors. This problem was fixed simply by going into the Language section of the program, and un-checking one box that was accidentally checked. Sometimes it seems like the best way to fix a problem is the simplest way possible, and yet quite often nowadays most people think too hard and try more complicated solutions. This has probably developed from our civilization’s extreme advancement of technology, and for that matter, most other fields.
