Today was a day slightly out of the ordinary. For once, Steve actually had several tickets to do, and in locations he usually isn’t assigned, such as Cooper and Allen. I wasn’t able to do much, although I’d like to think I helped a little. In fact, it was kind of like a review day, in that everything we did today we had already done once before, with slight modifications.

We almost made it…
November 28, 2006What to do…
November 21, 2006Today was the first day that we had absolutely nothing to do. We attempted to do a couple of very minor things, but nobody was even at their computer, and so we couldn’t do a thing.
Back in Edwards, Steve and Lyudmil discussed the lack of work, and about the tickets they had and couldn’t do. While they talked, I listened. They discussed how much better it would be if there was a schedule. The ITS people would spend a lot less time running around, and the people would always be there if they needed to be. They made a point about how no big computer repair shop would just show up, but instead, make a certain time when they could and would. I agree with those two, there should be some sort of set schedule.
Not-so-large, but in charge.
November 16, 2006Today was another day of not-so-much activity, but again, I was able to help out more than usual.
We started off with a SPSS install on a computer. Like the previous one, the program was already on the computer, the license just needed updating. (I wonder why that’s two computers that have had a licensing issue so far?) This I accomplished in a couple of minutes.
Genuinely Slow
November 14, 2006Today, as usual, was a dull day. For the past couple of weeks, the amount of tickets coming in has decreased dramatically. There’s hardly anything for anyone to do, and the tickets that do come in are usually quick fixes. I’m curious to know why exactly the jobs have slowed down. I asked Steve, and he was unsure as well.
Cory actually helped?
November 9, 2006Today was an incredibly easy day. I wasn’t able to learn anything today, but I was able to actually use my knowledge and solve some problems that needed solving.
Brown Building
November 7, 2006I walked into Edwards today, and Steve informed me that we didn’t have much to do. In fact, he said he slacked off of working just so we would have something to do. However, it turned out to be quite a busy day.
Monster Computer
November 2, 2006For the first hour today, there wasn’t too much activity. The only task we needed to do was remove a floppy disk from someone’s computer, which was a relatively easy task.
